SportAccord convention today announced the International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS) as the official integrity partner of the 2014 convention, taking place 6-11 April at the Susesi luxury resort and convention centre in Belek/Antalya, Turkey.

As ‘Official Integrity Partner’ for the 2014 Convention, the ICSS will add its knowledge and expertise in the area of sport safety, security and integrity to the event, which will include ICSS Director of Sport Integrity, Chris Eaton, speaking on ‘The Integrity Issue’ panel on Thursday 10th April. The ICSS will also be an Exhibitor at the 2014 Convention.

“Our new partnership with the ICSS is especially important as the wealth of expertise they will bring to this year’s Convention is undeniable,” said Nis Hatt, Managing Director of SportAccord Convention.

“As more cities and countries win bids to host sports events of various sizes, the ICSS’ knowledge of creating safe, secure and honest competitive environments is more beneficial to our delegates than ever.”

Mohammed Hanzab, President of the ICSS, added: “Corruption represents one of the biggest threats to many working in the business of sport. As an organisation that advises in sport safety, security and integrity, the ICSS is proud to be the Official Integrity Partner of the SportAccord Convention.

“An event created by sport for sport, the SportAccord Convention is an important milestone in the global sports calendar and represents an excellent opportunity for the world of sport and business to focus on issues that are front of mind for many in the industry. At the ICSS, we look forward to being involved the 2014 event and playing our part in the drive to protecting sport integrity.”

The 12th edition of SportAccord Convention will be the first edition of the summit to be held in Turkey.  Belek/Antalya is a developing sports hub which recently hosted the 2013 World Archery Championships. In May, the area will welcome the 2014 Turkish Airlines Ladies Golf Open, which is part of the Ladies European Tour.
