The chairman of the new National Football Centre, David Sheepshanks, will be among 100 high-level decision makers attending next week’s Leaders in Sport event at La Manga Club.
The former Football League chairman will be part of a strong footballing contingent staying at the five-star resort from March 27-29, with the governing bodies for the sport from England, Wales, Scotland, Spain and France among those in attendance as well as some of Europe’s top clubs including Arsenal, Celtic, Inter Milan and Benfica.The event also boasts an impressive roster of attendees from outside football including Sport England, golf’s European Tour, the British Horseracing Authority, British Olympic Association and the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Major League Baseball (MLB) from America while cricket, rugby league and rugby union are among the other sports represented.
A host of companies known for their strong links to sport will also be present with FA Cup sponsors E.ON, Coca-Cola and British Airways among them, alongside ITV’s controller of sport.
For the second consecutive year the popular event has sold out with executives from across the sporting landscape clamouring to be at La Manga Club for three days of networking and round-table discussions as well as the opportunity to cast their eyes over the five-star resort’s extensive leisure facilities.
